How to build a strong restaurant culture with Ferrell Alvarez

This week marked the drop of the 10th episode of Sunday Sauce (can't believe we're already at 10!!) with the topic being: how to build a strong company culture.

If you've scrolled through LinkedIn lately, you've probably seen the topic of quiet quitting plastered pretty much everywhere. If you missed the buzz around it, quiet quitting is when employees do the bare minimum required to get the job done – aka nothing outside of their job description, and absolutely nothing that would be defined as going above and beyond.

You might know a colleague who's showing symptoms, or maybe you're quiet quitting yourself without even knowing it. But the overall message that comes with this new trend is that if your company doesn't have an empowering culture, employees are no longer willing to give 100%.

On this episode of Sunday Sauce, I'm joined by James Beard semi-finalist and Michelin Star recognized owner of Proper House Restaurant Group, Ferrell Alvarez, to talk about how building a strong culture is essential for a successful [food] brand. Including:

  • his strategy for hiring long-lasting talent,

  • how to keep your employees inspired,

  • ways to combat quiet quitting and more that you don't want to miss!
