Zesty Cranberry Sauce

Cranberry sauce recipe | FoodxFeels Food Photographer

Serious question: Are you team canned or fresh cranberry sauce?

Personally, I like a little bit of both at my Thanksgiving table. The canned feels retro + ultra traditional, while there’s something luxurious + timeless about the fresh version.

The good news is, homemade cranberry sauce is incredibly simple to make!! You can even make it a few days in advance to lessen the cooking load on the actual holiday.

Ingredients

  • 1 package fresh cranberries

  • 1 orange, zested + juiced

  • 1 apple, peeled + diced

  • 3/4 cup water

  • 3/4 cup sugar

  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger

  • 1 cinnamon stick

Directions

1. In a small pot, combine cranberries, orange juice, orange zest, apple, water, sugar, ginger and cinnamon over medium heat.

2. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to low. Cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring often, until the sauce begins to thicken.

3. Serve immediately or chilled - it’s lovely both ways!
